EasyPlate

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 6, 2026

EasyPlate ("EasyPlate", "we", "us") is a mobile application for collecting recipes, planning weekly meals and managing grocery lists. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the app, why we collect it, who we share it with and what choices you have. By using EasyPlate you agree to the practices described here.

1. Who we are

EasyPlate is operated by the EasyPlate team (publisher ID "KH Easy Dev" in the app stores), based in Israel. For anything related to this policy, write to support@aieasyplate.app.

2. Information you give us

Account details. Every account is opened with a verified phone number, which is the root identity of the account. You can also link a Google account, an Apple ID (iOS only) or an email address and password to sign back in. We store your name and, if you choose, a profile photo.

Preferences. Your language, your weekly shopping day, dietary preferences and allergens, notification settings and display mode.

Content you create. Recipes, recipe books, weekly meal plans, grocery lists, photos you attach to recipes, forum threads and replies, likes, and feedback messages you send us.

Content you import. Text you paste, links you share, files (PDF, audio) and videos from TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook or other websites that you ask the app to turn into a recipe.

Receipts. When you scan a receipt we keep the product names, quantities and prices only. We do not keep the store, the date, the payment method or who paid. If you opt in, anonymous product prices may be contributed to community price medians.

Support messages. What you write to us by email, WhatsApp or the in-app feedback form, together with your name and account ID so we can reply.

3. Information collected automatically

Usage and diagnostics. We use Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics (Google) to understand which features are used and to fix crashes. This includes device model, operating system version, app version, language, coarse region, session events and crash reports. These are pseudonymous identifiers, not your name or phone number.

Push tokens. A device token from Firebase Cloud Messaging so we can deliver the notifications you enabled (share invites, replies to your threads, shopping-day reminders).

AI usage accounting. The number of AI extractions you run per day and their token usage, so the free daily allowance and Premium limits can be applied and so we can monitor our own costs.

Advertising identifiers. On free accounts, Google AdMob may collect your device advertising ID to serve and measure ads (see section 6).

4. How we use information

To run the app: sign you in, store and sync your content across your devices, deliver notifications you asked for, apply daily allowances and Premium entitlements.

To build recipes with AI: the text, link, file or video you submit is sent to an AI model (Google Gemini) to extract ingredients, steps, servings, tags and estimated nutrition. We send only what is needed for that request.

To translate your content when you switch language, using the same AI service.

To share: when you share a recipe, book or plan, or post in the community, the people you share with (or the community) can see that content, your display name and your profile photo.

To improve the app, understand usage, fix bugs and keep it secure.

To show ads on free accounts and to process subscriptions.

To respond to you when you contact support.

5. Artificial intelligence

Recipe extraction, nutrition estimates, "ask for a recipe" requests and content translation are performed by Google's Gemini models through Google Cloud. The content you submit for that purpose is processed under Google's API terms and is not used by us to identify you. AI output can be wrong: always check quantities, cooking temperatures, allergens and nutrition values yourself, especially where health or allergies are involved.

The in-app assistant (chat) sends your messages, together with a short snapshot of your account that the assistant needs to act (your preferences, the titles of your saved recipes, the items on your active grocery list, what is cooking), to the same Google Gemini service, and performs the actions you ask for through the app itself. Conversations are kept by Google for the duration of the session only and are not used by us to identify you.

6. Advertising

Free accounts see ads in community feeds and may choose to watch a rewarded video to extend a daily allowance. Ads are served by Google AdMob, which may use your device advertising ID and limited device data to select and measure ads. You can limit ad personalisation in your device settings (iOS: Settings › Privacy › Tracking / Apple Advertising; Android: Settings › Google › Ads). EasyPlate Premium removes all ads.

7. Subscriptions and payments

EasyPlate Premium is sold through Apple's App Store and Google Play. We never see your card number. Purchases are managed with RevenueCat, which receives an anonymous app user ID, your store receipt and subscription status so Premium can be unlocked on all your devices. Refunds and billing questions are handled by the store you purchased from.

8. Who we share information with

Service providers that process data for us: Google Firebase (authentication, database, storage, analytics, crash reporting, push notifications, remote configuration), Google Cloud and Gemini (AI processing), Google AdMob (ads), RevenueCat (subscriptions), Apple and Google (sign-in and billing).

Other users: only the content you choose to share or post, with your display name and photo.

Legal reasons: when required by law, a court order or to protect the rights, safety and property of our users or of EasyPlate.

We do not sell your personal information.

Share codes and links. Besides inviting a contact by email or phone, you can share a recipe, book or meal plan with a short code, a link (aieasyplate.app/s/…) or a QR image that carries it. Creating one stores a small record with the item's title, your account identifier, the access level you chose and an expiry (30 days unless you cancel it earlier). Anyone who has the code can join until then, so treat it like an invitation: when they redeem it, they see your display name and the shared item exactly as an invited contact would, and you can remove them from the shared-access screen at any time. Scanning a QR uses the camera only while the scanner is open; no picture is stored or sent anywhere. The system share sheet hands the code and link to the app you pick (messaging, mail); what that app does with it is governed by its own policy.

Shared accounts (Pro Duo, Pro Family). A Pro Duo or Pro Family subscriber can open a shared account and invite up to one (Duo) or five (Family) other accounts with a code. Inside a shared account, recipes, books, meal plans, grocery lists, receipts and price records are stored under the shared account rather than under each member, so every member sees and can change them, and changes are mirrored to members' devices as they happen. Members see each other's display names. Preferences, daily allowances and your profile stay your own. The owner's Premium status is copied to members for as long as the subscription is active. When you leave or are removed, the shared data stays with the shared account and is deleted from your device; when the owner closes the shared account, its data is deleted from our servers and only the owner's device keeps a copy.

9. Where data is stored

Your data is stored on Google Cloud servers, which may be located outside Israel, including in the European Union and the United States. Google maintains appropriate safeguards for these transfers. A copy of your content is also kept on your device so the app works offline.

10. Retention and deletion

We keep your account and content for as long as the account exists. You can delete any recipe, book, plan, list or receipt from inside the app at any time; shared content is removed from the people you shared it with as well.

To delete your whole account, write to support@aieasyplate.app from the account's email or phone, or use the account deletion option in the app where available. We delete your account, your content and your photos within 30 days, except for records we must keep by law (for example purchase records) and anonymous statistics.

Crash and analytics data is retained by Google for the periods set in Firebase (up to 14 months) and is not tied to your account afterwards.

11. Cook mode, timers and notifications on your device

Cook mode keeps the recipe you are cooking, the step you are on and your timers on your device only, so you can leave the app and come back. This information is not sent to us or to anyone else and is deleted when you tap "done".

Timers use local notifications: a notification that rings when a timer ends, and, on Android, an ongoing notification with the countdown while the app is in the background. For this the app asks for notification permission and, on Android 14 and later, for permission to schedule exact alarms so the ring is on time; without it the ring may be delayed.

On Android, while a timer runs, the app keeps a foreground service running so the countdown keeps moving when the app is not on screen. Android shows a permanent notification for it, and it uses some battery until the last timer stops or you end cooking. While the cook-mode screen is open the screen is kept awake.

12. Security

Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest on Google Cloud. Access to your content is enforced by server-side security rules: only you and the accounts you shared with can read it. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so please keep your sign-in methods safe.

13. Children

EasyPlate is not directed at children under 13 (or the higher minimum age in your country) and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

14. Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under Israel's Protection of Privacy Law and, where applicable, the EU GDPR) you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, object to or restrict certain processing, receive a copy of your data in a portable format and withdraw consent. You can change notification, advertising and sharing choices in the app, and contact us at support@aieasyplate.app for anything else. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

15. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top shows the current version. For material changes we will notify you in the app or by the contact details on your account.
